Our client, based in the US, is a fast-growing startup building SaaS products. It is a business management platform that is sold to CPA / Accounting firms in the US.

The product is live in production with over 1,200+ users using it every day as a critical part of running their business.

You will join a team of close-knit developers working on the product. The CTO cares about the team and wants people to love their job and is looking for colleagues who are passionate about what they are working on.

This role will be hands-on and participate in building out new features and functionality as well as bug fixes and enhancements for a SaaS software product. The front end is using Angular, and the back end is using Java + Spring for the REST APIs, backed by the MySQL database. Everything is hosted in the cloud in AWS.

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer who will use Java & Angular to build the SaaS product.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Backend Development: Assist in building Java-based services and ensure they work well with the front end.
  • Frontend Development: Help develop user interfaces using Angular, based on designs provided.
  • CI/CD: Learn and participate in automating software processes, from coding to deployment.
  • Teamwork: Join agile meetings, learn from code reviews, and collaborate with senior engineers.

Requirements

Must Haves:

  • Basic experience with Angular frontend development (TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Basic experience with Java & Spring Boot
  • Great English communication skills (the CTO is based in the US)

Required Soft Skills

  • Takes initiative and works to move the project forward even when stakeholders may not be available
  • Work in a team environment
  • Problem-solving, excited to tackle new problems

Preferred Skills

  • Experience is a plus but not required, as long as you are willing to learn it as you go.
  • Database table design and SQL queries
