We are looking for a senior Java Architect to work with the department for competition (DG COMP) for the European Commission. 

The European Commission, together with the national competition authorities, directly enforces EU competition rules, Articles 101-106 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU (TFEU), to make EU markets work better, by ensuring that all companies compete equally and fairly on their merits. This benefits consumers, businesses, and the European economy as a whole.

Description of Tasks:

  • Analysis of the integration of different information systems;
  • Analysis of the integration of different information systems;
  • Data analysis and data modeling;
  • Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture;
  • Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers;
  • Production of software architecture documents;
  • Participation in technical working groups and meetings with the users;
  • Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation, and reporting;
  • Review of the architecture of existing systems to migrate them to the cloud.

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Experience with Java EE 7 or higher
  • 3+ years experience with Spring data
  • 3+ years experience with Spring
  • 3+ years experience with Spring Security
  • 3+ years experience with Hibernate
  • 3+ years experience with Spring Boot
  • Excellent knowledge of iText
  • 2 years of experience testing with Junit
  • 2 years experience with Liquibase
  • 2 years experience with Oracle RDBMS
  • 2 years experience with Quartz
  • Good experience with Web services (WSDL, SOAP, REST, etc.);
  • 3+ years experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA);
  • Good knowledge of Java Message Service (Queues and Topics);
  • Good knowledge of Grails and Apache Groovy.
  • Bachelors Degree. 
  • EU national or permanent resident
  • English Level C1+
