We are seeking an experienced Modernization Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join our team and drive infrastructure and application modernization projects. The ideal candidate has a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a solid understanding of AI/ML technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Modernization TPM in a client-facing or consulting environment.
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience working with legacy codebases (e.g., .NET, Visual Basic, COBOL, Java).
  • Proven track record in modernization/migration projects, moving legacy tech stacks to modern solutions.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts, tools, and applications.
  • Strong ability to gather and document technical requirements and translate them into actionable tasks for engineering teams.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Jira) and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP).
  • Ability to oversee modernization project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • C1/C2 level English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Strong understanding of legacy code patterns, standards, and anti-patterns.
  • Experience with modern software architecture and best practices.
  • 1+ year of experience working on AI/ML-related projects.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile Scrum Master).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end modernization projects, ensuring smooth delivery of AI infrastructure and application upgrades.
  • Oversee the migration of virtual machines (VMs) to containers and modernize legacy applications (e.g., .NET, COBOL, Java) into modern tech stacks.
  • Coordinate the integration of generative AI capabilities into clients’ modernization projects.
  • Work closely with enterprise clients to gather technical and functional requirements, translating them into structured action plans.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring resources align with project goals.
  • Collaborate with AI and LLM teams to enhance automation, documentation, and code modernization outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for code quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and potential issues to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide detailed updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and process optimization.
