We are seeking an Associate Director (Electrical) to take a leading role within our customer’s growing Cambridge team. This is a senior appointment suited to someone who combines deep technical expertise with commercial acumen, client leadership, and a passion for delivering high-performing buildings.

You’ll be at the forefront of major, complex projects across science & research, healthcare and other high-value sectors—overseeing delivery, shaping strategy, and helping to define the direction of the office. This role offers substantial influence, autonomy and visibility, making it ideal for someone ready for a step up into senior leadership.

What You’ll be doing

• Leading major multi-disciplinary projects and acting as the primary client representative
• Driving work-winning activity, supporting bids and securing new opportunities
• Providing senior leadership across the electrical discipline, promoting high technical standards
• Overseeing project profitability, performance metrics and resource planning
• Representing the team at senior client and industry meetings
• Building and driving a motivated, high-performing engineering team
• Providing direction, mentoring and succession planning across the local office
• Reporting regularly to senior management on costs, resources and overall project pipeline

About You

• Chartered with significant experience at principal/senior level or above
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
• Excellent commercial awareness and ability to manage complex workloads
• Confident dealing with challenging situations in a calm, solution-focused manner
• Deep technical electrical knowledge and awareness of complementary disciplines
• A strong communicator who builds trusted client relationships and drives business growth
