We are looking for an experienced and energetic Backend Chapter Lead to join our Product & Engineering team in Berlin. Responsibilities:
● Grow and manage the Chapter of Java Backend Engineers, helping them to
become self-organized, agile, and autonomous
● Provide guidance for the Squads with regards to major architectural questions
● Define objectives and support every Engineer of your Chapter in achieving
them
● Coach and mentor the Engineers in your Chapter by providing regular
feedback
● Establish a vital Engineering culture
● Cultivate tools, best practices, and standards for Java coding
● Team up with other Chapter Leads and Senior Product Leadership
● Be part of the overall Senior Leadership Team for our Product & Engineering organization

Requirements:
● You are a Senior Java professional with at least 4 years of experience in a Technical Leadership role (such as Chapter Lead, Engineering Manager, Team Leader, or Lead Architect)
● You lead in an emphatic and inspirational way that is respected by the team
● You have strong communication and relationship management skills as the Chapter spans various Squads
● You are an effective problem solver and are eager to take decisions
● In your previous roles, you have developed and demonstrated your dedication to best-in-class products using Java-related technologies
● You are proficient in Java (11 or higher), Spring Boot, Spring Data as well related technologies

● You know what it takes to build and orchestrate microservices using synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns

● You have a strong business sense

● You possess eagerness to work in a fast-paced, fault-tolerant, agile environment with cross-functional teams

● You are fluent in English (German is a plus)
