The Senior Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer DBA is responsible for the administration, optimization, and resilience of large-scale Data Warehouse environments (>80 TB) running on ExaCC.

The role demands advanced expertise in RAC, Active Data Guard, 19c CDB/PDB multitenant architecture, Exadata storage optimization, and complex SQL performance troubleshooting.

This expert-level DBA ensures enterprise-grade stability, SLA availability and rapid resolution of P1 incidents, and seamless integration with BI/ETL applications such as BusinessObjects, Tableau, Talend, and TIBCO.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize Exadata Cloud@Customer GEN2 DWH (>100 TB) with RAC
  • Lead complex SQL performance troubleshooting for BI and ETL workloads.
  • Implement RMAN backup/recovery strategies including incremental merge, ZDLRA integration, and snapshots.
  • Administer VM image migrations and storage replication to DR sites.
  • Tune Exadata features: Smart Scan, HCC, Flash Cache, IORM, Resource Manager.
  • Provide expert-level incident response for P1 performance issues.
  • Working closely with BI/ETL teams and assist reporting and middleware tools issues (BO, Tableau, Talend, and TIBCO)

Requirements

Abilities and skills:

  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (Gen2 / X8M and above) administration
  • Oracle RAC administration (performance, services, load balancing)
  • Oracle 19c CDB/PDB Multitenant architecture
  • Active Data Guard
  • RMAN Backup/Recovery, ZDLRA, storage snapshots
  • SQL tuning (AWR, ASH, SQL Monitor, DBMS_XPLAN, TKPROF)
  • OEM / Cloud Control / Real-Time Insight Tools
  • Exadata internals (Smart Scan, HCC, IORM, Flash Cache), including Exadata Storage Server (Cell) Metrics
  • Frontend BI/ETL integrations: Tableau, BusinessObjects, Talend, TIBCO
  • Security: TDE, DB Vault, auditing

Professional certificates:

  • Oracle Exadata Database Machine Administrator Certified Professional (must)
  • Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer Implementation Specialist
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Database Migration & Performance Tuning Specialist (must)
  • Oracle Cloud Database Services Certified Specialist (ExaCC / ExaCS) (must)

Performance / HA / DR

  • Oracle Database 19c Performance Tuning Certified Expert (must)
  • Oracle Database 19c High Availability & Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist
  • Oracle RAC & Grid Infrastructure Certified Expert

Work experience:

  • 16+ years Oracle DBA experience, with 5+ years hands-on ExaCC
  • Experience managing large DWH >80 TB with complex BI/ETL workloads.
  • Strong RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN expertise.
  • Proven record of P1 performance troubleshooting in ExaCC environments.
  • Capable of end-to-end DR management, including VM image migrations and snapshot replication.
