We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Product Owner to join the Digital Centre of Excellence (Digital COE) and drive the delivery, adoption, and continuous evolution of enterprise digital, AI, automation, and knowledge management solutions.
This role will be responsible for managing strategic Digital COE initiatives from ideation through delivery and value realisation. The Product Owner will work across multiple products and programs, including AI assistants, enterprise knowledge solutions, workflow automation, and future digital capabilities.
The ideal candidate combines strong product ownership, delivery leadership, and business analysis capabilities with a solid understanding of Generative AI, enterprise platforms, and digital transformation.
The role will partner closely with the Digital COE Product Manager, who owns product strategy, portfolio direction, and business engagement. The Product Owner will be responsible for translating strategic priorities into delivery-ready execution and ensuring successful implementation through close collaboration with Scrum Masters, developers, architects, AI specialists, IT teams, and delivery partners.
Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Value Realisation
- Act as Product Owner for strategic Digital COE products and initiatives.
- Own backlog management, prioritisation, and delivery planning.
- Translate strategic priorities and business requirements into delivery-ready work items.
- Support the definition of success measures, KPIs, and expected business outcomes.
- Ensure delivered solutions align with strategic objectives and generate measurable value and adoption.
- Balance business needs, technical constraints, risks, and timelines to maximize value delivery.
Agile Product Ownership & Team Leadership
- Serve as the primary day-to-day Product Owner for Digital COE initiatives.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day representative of the product within the delivery team, working closely with the Scrum Master to ensure a healthy backlog, sprint readiness, clear requirements, and effective delivery execution.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Maintain a healthy, prioritised, and delivery-ready backlog.
- Define and refine epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Provide ongoing clarification and guidance to development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Make day-to-day scope, priority, and trade-off decisions to support delivery objectives.
- Review and accept completed work to ensure alignment with requirements and expected outcomes.
- Remove ambiguity and help teams overcome delivery blockers.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into epics, features, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate requirement workshops and working sessions when needed.
- Document current-state and future-state business processes.
- Define MVPs, scope boundaries, assumptions, dependencies, and success criteria.
- Ensure requirements are complete, clear, testable, and understood by technical teams.
- Support solution design discussions and evaluate trade-offs among business value, complexity, scalability, and delivery speed.
- Maintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, and delivered capabilities.
Digital COE Innovation & Capability Development
- Assess business and technology challenges and recommend appropriate digital, AI, and automation capabilities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for adoption across the Digital COE portfolio.
- Support the creation of reusable Digital COE building blocks, frameworks, accelerators, and best practices.
- Help define scalable delivery models and reusable patterns that can be leveraged across multiple initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of the Digital COE portfolio and operating model.
Enterprise AI & Knowledge Solutions
- Support the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of enterprise AI and automation solutions.
- Lead and support initiatives such as:
- Ask X
- Enterprise knowledge assistants
- AI-powered search and retrieval solutions
- Copilot and Agentic AI use cases
- Process automation opportunities
- Future Digital COE products and platforms
- Collaborate with architects, AI specialists, and development teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives, user needs, architecture standards, and governance requirements.
- Help define MVP approaches and incremental delivery strategies that accelerate value realisation.
Delivery Leadership
- Coordinate delivery across developers, architects, AI specialists, IT teams, security teams, and external vendors.
- Drive execution across multiple concurrent Digital COE initiatives and manage interdependencies between them.
- Establish and maintain delivery plans, milestones, release roadmaps, and progress tracking mechanisms.
- Proactively identify risks, issues, blockers, and dependencies and drive mitigation plans.
- Ensure sprint readiness and alignment of the delivery team.
- Drive successful rollout, operational readiness, and transition to support models when required.
- Monitor delivery performance and continuously identify opportunities to improve execution effectiveness.
Governance, Adoption & Change Management
- Support AI governance and Responsible AI practices.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise standards, security requirements, and policies.
- Support adoption planning, communications, training, and change management activities.
- Monitor adoption and usage metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of governance processes and operational best practices for Digital COE solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
- Experience working with AI, data, analytics, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, AI Foundry, or related technologies.
- Experience working with external delivery partners and vendors.
- Experience defining reusable enterprise capabilities, platforms, frameworks, or accelerators.
- Experience supporting adoption of emerging technologies at scale.
Technical & Digital Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
- Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
